he château's history

âteau Seyre was built int he XIX th century
by the Marquis Eugène d'Hautpoul Seyre,
on the fondations of an old mediaval castle.

In june 1940, the château welcomed one hundred
jewish orphans who left poignant traces
of there stays through drawings on
the whitewashed walls.

60 years later a large delegation commemorated
the quality of their wartime welcome by
the Hautpoul family and fixed
a remembrance plaque on the property
that remains in the same family.
